SEO China Charity Program 2009

— Enlighten ‘the Future of China’

“I’ve really learned a lot about my coming university life. I will plan the next four years in a better way, for sure.” A student from the high school affiliated to Renmin University of China said after the charity program held by SEO 2009.

On July 19th, 12 pre-university students gathered together at Tsinghua University to participate in the Pre-University Enlightenment Program (PUEP) which aimed at showing these pre-university students what the real life of university is like and offering suggestions on study, entertainment, career objectives, etc. The program lasted for 3 hours, centering around four topics — daily life overview, student associations and communities, study, and future career paths. SEO China volunteers from Peking University and Tsinghua University shared their experience and secrets of success in university.

Every year, SEO China members would take an active part in various charity programs, including taking care of the orphanages and visiting the school of the migrant-workers’ children. SEO China is sticking to giving back to society and helping those in need, and this year it’s focused on the pre-university students—the future of China to help them get prepared for the university life as well as shouldering more social responsibilities.
